James Demitrus is a Chartered Accountant and Financial Economist with thirty (30) years’ experience in energy and infrastructure projects, cost of service modelling, electricity tariff and rate setting and revenue requirement derivation.

Currently, Mr. Demitrus works at the Ministry of Energy and Energy Transition as the Project Coordinator for the Scalable Renewable Energy Project (SREP) being funded by the Climate Investment Fund, the African Development Bank, Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and the Government of Ghana. Mr. Demitrus is also directly involved in the on-going Energy Sector Recovery Programme by providing financial and policy support. Previously, Mr. Demitrus worked as embedded consultant at the Ministry of Finance responsible for Public Private Partnership policy formulation and structuring of transactions and also worked at Volta River Authority and Ghana Grid Company as Strategic, Budget and Project Finance Manager.

Mr. Demitrus was the lead financial modeler on a number key major projects such as the West African Gas Pipeline, 360 MW Takoradi 2 Power Plant, Cenpower Power Plant and some IPPs.

Mr. Demitrus holds BSc Administration (Accounting Option), MSc Financial Economist and a member of Association of Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA-UK)
