Ing. Eric Asare is an Energy Expert with an Electrical Engineering background. He directed the provision of engineering services for the coordinated and efficient development and operation of the National Interconnected Transmission System (NITS), provided leadership and management for departmental activities including power system planning, design, contracts and project management and land management.   He was in charge of directing GRIDCo’s activities concerning technical standards, technical procedures, technical audits, safety management, research and network innovations, knowledge management and transport (fleet) management. He also managed the operation of Ghana’s Electric Power Supply system, directing the operation of the bulk power system and interconnections to ensure safe, secure, reliable and economic delivery of electricity supply to all customers and ensuring the provision of open and fair access to transmission services for all market participants. He was responsible for the overall leadership, planning, direction and management of critical support systems including SCADA/EMS systems and telecommunication systems. Ing. Asare  is a Fellow of the Ghana Institution of Engineers (GhIE) and a member of the Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
